What Is vCon?
vCon, short for Virtualized Conversations, is an emerging Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard that acts like a “PDF for conversations.” It captures the full context of a digital interaction — voice, video, chat, or email — into a portable, structured, and verifiable file.
A vCon can include:
- Participants & Consent – who was involved and proof of permissions.
- Content – transcripts, audio, video, and related attachments.
- Metadata – timestamps, communication channels, and purpose.
- AI Insights – summaries, sentiment analysis, and compliance flags.
This structure makes it easier to store, analyze, and share conversations securely across industries.
